【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforelectrodeposited(electroplated)coatingsoftinappliedtometallicarticles.Tincoatingsareusedtoprovidealowcontact-resistancesurface,toprotectagainstcorrosion(see),tofacilitatesoldering,toprovideanti-gallingproperties,andtobeastopoffcoatinginthenitridingofhigh-strengthsteels.1.2Somecorrosioncanbeexpectedfromtincoatingsexposedoutdoors.Innormalindoorexposure,tinisprotectiveoniron,steel,nickel,copper,andtheiralloys.Corrosioncanbeexpectedatdiscontinuitiesinthecoating(suchaspores)duetogalvaniccouplesformedbetweenthetinandtheunderlyingmetalthroughthediscontinuities,especiallyinhumidatmospheres.Porosityincreasesasthecoatingthicknessdecreases,sothatminimumthicknessesmustbespecifiedforeachapplication.Partscoatedwithtincanbeassembledsafelyincontactwithironandsteel,tin-coatedaluminum,yellowchromatedzinc,cadmium,andsoldercoatings.(Seeforoxidationandcorrosionproperties.)1.3Thisspecificationappliestoelectroplatedcoatingsofnotlessthan99%tin(exceptwheredeliberatelyalloyedforspecialpurposes,asstatedin)obtainedfromanyoftheavailabletinelectroplatingprocesses(see).1.4Thisspecificationdoesnotapplytohot-dippedtinorothernon-electrodepositedcoating;italsodoesnotapplytomillproducts.Formillproducts,refertoSpecificationsA623orA623M.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
