【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforuseincomparingthebondstrengths(underthegivenconditions)ofmasonrymortars.Thistestmethodcouldbeused,forexample,tocheckoneaspectofthequalityofmortarproductsafterproduction,ortoindicatethebondpotentialofamortarproductwithoutrequiringtheproducttobetestedincombinationwithmanydifferentunits.Thistestmethodusescontrolledconditionsoffabricationandcuringthatarenotintendedtorepresentfieldconditions.Thistestmethodusesstandardconcretemasonryunits.Mortarsarebatchedbyweightequivalentsofvolumeproportionsandaremixedtoaprescribedflow.Prismsareconstructedusingajigandarebag-cured.Flexuralbondstrengthdeterminedbythistestmethodshallnotbeinterpretedastheflexuralbondstrengthofawall(becausestandardunitsarenotusedforwallconstruction),norshallitbeinterpretedasanindicationofextentofbondforpurposesofwaterpermeabilityevaluation.1.1Thesetestmethodsevaluatetheflexuralbondstrength,normaltothebedjoints,ofmasonrybuiltofmanufacturedmasonryunits.Samplingandtestingproceduresarereferenced,andtermsaredefined.Threedifferentspecimenfabricationmethodsarespecified,eachforadifferentpurpose:1.1.1Thefirstmethodisthex201C;TestMethodforLaboratory-PreparedSpecimens.x201D;Itspurposeistocomparethebondstrengths(underthegivenconditions)ofmasonrymortars.Itcouldbeused,forexample,tocheckthequalityofmortarproductsafterproduction,ortoindicatethebondstrength(underthegivenconditions)ofamortarproductwithoutrequiringtheproducttobetestedincombinationwithmanydifferentunits.Itisnotintendedtorepresentfieldconditions.Itusesstandardconcretemasonryunits.Mortarsarebatchedbyweightequivalentsofvolumeproportionsandaremixedtoaprescribedflow.Prismsareconstructedusingajigandarebag-cured.1.1.2Thesecondmethodisthex201C;TestMethodforField-PreparedSpecimens.x201D;Itspurposeistoevaluatethebondstrength(underthegivenconditions)ofaparticularunit-mortarcombination,eitherforpreconstructionevaluationofmaterialsorforqualitycontrolpurposesduringconstruction.Mortarsarebatchedconventionally,andtheflowisnotprescribed.Prismsareconstructedconventionally(nojig)andarebag-cured.1.1.3Thethirdmethodisthex201C;TestMethodforPrismsRemovedfromExistingMasonry.x201D;Itspurposeistoevaluatethebondstrengthofunit-mortarcombinationsofprismscutfromexistingwalls.1.1.4Thethreemethodsarenotconsistent,noraretheyintendedtobe.Theyareintendedtobeusedforthreedifferentpurposes.Tomakethisclear,thethreemethodsarepresentedseparately.1.1.5AppendixX1suggeststwopossiblecriteriaforassessingthebondstrengthvaluesobtainedusingthesetestmethods.Thesepossibleevaluationcriteriaaregivenforillustrationonlyandarenotmandatory.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
