【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversbaremodifiedconcentric-lay-strandedconductorsmadefromroundcopperwires,eitheruncoatedorcoatedwithtin,lead,orleadalloyforgeneraluseininsulatedelectricalcables.Theseconductorsshallbeconstructedwithacentralcoreconsistingofnotmorethansevenwires,surroundedbyoneormorelayersofhelicallylaidwires.1.2Forthepurposesofthisspecification,conductorsareclassifiedasfollows(ExplanatoryNote1andNote2):1.2.1ClassBModified8212;Conductorstobeinsulatedwithvariousmaterialssuchasrubber,paper,andcrosslinkpolyethylene.1.2.2ClassCModifiedandClassDModified8212;ConductorswheregreaterflexibilityisrequiredthanisprovidedbyClassBModifiedconductors.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningthevaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththespecification.ForconductorsizesdesignatedbyAWGorkcmilsizes,therequirementsinSIunitsarenumericallyconvertedfromthecorrespondingrequirementsininch-poundunits.ForconductorsizesdesignatedbyAWGorkcmil,therequirementsinSIunitshavebeennumericallyconvertedfromcorrespondingvaluesstatedorderivedininch-poundunits.forconductorsizesdesignatedbySIunitsonly,therequirementsarestatedorderivedinSIunits.1.3.1Fordensity,resitivityandtemperature,thevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Note18212;ThesignificantdifferencesinthisspecificationfromSpecificationB8areasfollows:(1)ThecentralcoreispermittedtocontainuptosevenwiresdrawnintotheassemblywithaninfinitelengthoflaywhileSpecificationB8permitsonlyone,and(2)Theconstructionisapplicableonlytostrandedassembliesof19ormorewires.
