【摘要】:Samplingisasimportantastesting,andprecautionsshallbetakentoobtainsamplestoshowthetruenatureandconditionofthematerials.Samplesaretakenforeitherofthefollowingtwopurposes:Torepresentasnearlyaspossibleanaverageofthebulkofthematerialssampled,orToascertainthemaximumvariationincharacteristicswhichthematerialpossesses.1.1Thispracticeappliestothesamplingofbituminousmaterialsatpointsofmanufacture,storage,ordelivery.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thistestsystemhasadvantagesincertainrespectsovertheuseofstaticloadingsystemsinthemeasurementofceramicwhitewares.3.1.1Onlyminutestressesareappliedtothespecimen,thusminimizingthepossibilityoffracture.3.1.2Theperiodoftimeduringwhichstressisappliedandremovedisoftheorderofhundredsofmicroseconds,makingitfeasibletoperformmeasurementsattemperatureswheredelayedelasticandcreepeffectsproceedonamuch-shortenedtimescale.Thistestmethodissuitablefordetectingwhetheramaterialmeetsspecifications,ifcognizanceisgiventooneimportantfact:ceramicwhitewarematerialsaresensitivetothermalhistory.Therefore,thethermalhistoryofatestspecimenmustbeknownbeforethemodulicanbeconsideredintermsofspecifiedvalues.Materialspecificationsshouldincludeaspecificthermaltreatmentforalltestspecimens.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheelasticpropertiesofceramicwhitewarematerials.Specimensofthesematerialspossessspecificmechanicalresonancefrequencieswhicharedefinedbytheelasticmoduli,density,andgeometryofthetestspecimen.Thereforetheelasticpropertiesofamaterialcanbecomputedifthegeometry,density,andmechanicalresonancefrequenciesofasuitabletestspecimenofthatmaterialcanbemeasured.Young''smodulusisdeterminedusingtheresonancefrequencyintheflexuralmodeofvibration.Theshearmodulus,ormodulusofrigidity,isfoundusingtorsionalresonancevibrations.Young''smodulusandshearmodulusareusedtocomputePoisson''sratio,thefactoroflateralcontraction.1.2Allceramicwhitewarematerialsthatareelastic,homogeneous,andisotropicmaybetestedbythistestmethod.Thistestmethodisnotsatisfactoryforspecimensthathavecracksorvoidsthatrepresentinhomogeneitiesinthematerial;neitherisitsatisfactorywhenthesematerialscannotbepreparedinasuitablegeometry.Note1Elasticheremeansthatanapplicationofstresswithintheelasticlimitofthatmaterialmakingupthebodybeingstressedwillcauseaninstantaneousanduniformdeformation,whichwillceaseuponremovalofthestress,withthebodyreturninginstantlytoitsoriginalsizeandshapewithoutanenergyloss.Manyceramicwhitewarematerialsconformtothisdefinitionwellenoughthatthistestismeaningful.Note2Isotropicmeansthattheelasticpropertiesarethesameinalldirectionsinthematerial.1.3Acryogeniccabinetandhigh-temperaturefurnacearedescribedformeasuringtheelasticmoduliasafunctionoftemperaturefrom195to1200C.1.4Modificationofthetestforuseinqualitycontrolispossible.Arangeofacceptableresonancefrequenciesisdeterminedforapiecewithaparticulargeometryanddensity.Anyspecimenwithafrequencyresponsefallingoutsidethisfrequencyrangeisrejected.Theactualmodulusofeachpieceneednotbedeterminedaslongasthelimitsoftheselectedfrequencyrangeareknowntoincludetheresonancefrequencythatthepiecemustpossessifitsgeometryanddensityarewithinspecifiedtolerances.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
